You may have heard this term and wondered what this was all about??? Is it something to do with BP and its oil leak problem?????
The term oil rig hopping is a term that I first heard from my coach, Alex Jeffreys in one of our training sessions and it really does have a very unique story to it.
You may not be aware (like I wasn’t) that some of the world’s best fishing can be done around the massive structures of oil rigs out in the ocean.
Oil Rig hopping has been described as an analogy for internet marketing. If you can imagine an oil rig’s massive structure out in the middle of the ocean, this is like your blog, out in the huge ocean of the internet. Now on the legs of the oil rigs you will find algae growing, this is the perfect place to find little clams coming along to feed on the algae. And, where you find little clams, there will soon be little fish circling around and feeding on these little clams. Soon before you know it larger fish will be attracted to the little fish and will begin their feast. Then low and behold even large fish will come to feed on the smaller fish who are eating yet smaller fish, who are feeding on the little clams who are feeding on the algae. Soon the whole area around the oil rig will have fish of every size of fish from very smallest to the largest tuna and sharks in the world.
This analogy is likening our blog on the internet to the whole scenario of oil rig hopping.
Our blog content is the algae. The clams are like the folks who to leave comments on our blog. The little fish are those who see the comments and come to take a closer look…. and before you know it whole schools of huge fish (customers interested in what we have to say) will stop in to see what all the fuss is about.
We can hop from one blog to another all the while providing valuable content and assistance to others as we build relationship with them. Being active and offering great content will bring a huge amount of traffic to your site. So stay active in on your blog, provide solid, valuable content and share with others by visiting their sites and adding your comments.
I’d like to hear from you if you would like to add something! I hope to be hopping to your blog soon!

Let us all keep moving toward success!
Our first session in Alex Jeffreys Coaching program was entitled, “Forward to the Basics”. The initial part of our training would give us a glimpse into the exciting journey we were about to begin. Step number one for us as new entrepreneurs is to set our goals, decide how we would go about reaching these goals and
get ourselves into the right mindset for what lay ahead.
Plan, plan and plan – everything begins with planning! Start by looking at the big picture (with a 12 month plan), then break that down into smaller segments (maybe 90 day plans) and then move to even smaller segments yet (30 day plans) until you are looking at the plans for each day. Set even your daily plans into small blocks of time set aside for each task.
Make a “to do list” for the next day and stick to it! Set time limits for each issue that you will be dealing with for that day. Don’t spend your whole day checking your e-mail. Set a limit and stick to the limit! A timer can keep you on track for the limit that you have pre-determined for each task.
This is your business! This is no longer a hobby or something that you will spend a little time on here and there – this is a commitment – this is YOUR business –the way you will make your living!
Steps toward Success —
These tips should help you prepare as you start your new home based business.

Hello and Welcome to my Blog! I am so thrilled that you have decided to visit my site as I start my new venture in internet marketing.
Let me start by introducing myself a bit. My husband and I live in Livonia, Michigan, a city just outside of Detroit. We are both musicians and deeply involved in music. My husband writes on modern music and I have worked with him in our publishing company. This was my very first introduction to marketing of any kind. I discovered just how important and widely varied the whole realm of marketing can be to any business.
After a couple of years of seeing marketing from within the publishing world I started to see a new path, this time in internet marketing. About five months ago, I was first introduced to IM and it caught my full attention. I had an invitation to a webinar presented by Chuck Mullaney. Once I heard about list building and the part it plays in the IM business, I was hooked! I was already tired of my regular job and couldn’t wait to start following my dream of more free time with my husband and towards a more successful path then working for someone else— something just clicked! I just had to start finding out everything that I could about internet marketing. It sounded like the way for me to finally realize my dreams.
My next step I took put me in touch with Reed Floren, a huge name in internet marketing world. He started me on building my list and teaching me how to care for those on my list. He was enthusiastic and very helpful. I learned a lot with him.
Next, I heard how outsourcing could help save tons of time and assist me in getting to the next level towards my goal of letting go of the job that has me chained to my desk all day. I enrolled in the Outsourcing Secrets Coaching plan with Jeff Mills, another IM giant. I found there was a ton of information that I needed to learn. First however, I needed to start taking action on several more fundamental steps before I would be ready to automate with outsourcing. This brings me to where I am today.
Five weeks ago I decided that I really needed a Coach, someone who could guide me towards creating a solid business foundation and help lead me towards the path of success. I heard about Alex Jeffrey’s and found him to be the Top Coach in internet marketing. I heard that he was going to open his last coaching program so after having listened to many of his successful students, I couldn’t wait to sign up for his coaching program! This is my first big step towards my future in internet marketing! Now the journey begins! I will keep you posted and share more of what I learn as I move forward towards my goals of freedom and success.
