As part of our coaching program we have been given a competition to gear us up for participation in driving traffic to our blogs.  The main idea behind this competition is to see which student will have the most traffic to their blog by June 7.

One of the rules laid out is that we must post on our blog the various means by which we are driving our traffic to our site.  Below you will find my list of items that I have been using to drive traffic to Marketing with Alice at alicemchard.com

Maybe your will find these ideas to be helpful as you work on driving traffic to your blog or website. Or maybe a new idea shared here will make your site to soar with loads of new subscribers! Let me know if you are aware of other avenues that I haven’t presented here…it just might make the difference for my standing in the competition and it may also help many of other readers as they are looking for new ideas in their quest to find more traffic.

Let us all keep moving toward success!

Our first session in Alex Jeffreys Coaching program was entitled, “Forward to the Basics”.  The initial part of our training would give us a glimpse into the exciting journey we were about to begin.  Step number one for  us as new entrepreneurs is to set our goals, decide how we  would go about  reaching these goals and
get ourselves into the right mindset for what lay ahead.

Plan, plan and plan – everything begins with planning! Start by looking at the big picture (with a 12 month plan), then break that down into smaller segments (maybe 90 day plans) and then move to even smaller segments yet (30 day plans) until you are looking at the plans for each day. Set even your daily plans into small blocks of time set aside for each task.

Make a “to do list” for the next day and stick to it! Set time limits for each issue that you will be dealing with for that day. Don’t spend your whole day checking your e-mail. Set a limit and stick to the limit! A timer can keep you on track for the limit that you have pre-determined for each task.

This is your business! This is no longer a hobby or something that you will spend a little time on here and there – this is a commitment – this is YOUR business –the way you will make your living!

Steps toward Success —

1. Plan for the next day’s tasks and set a time limit for each item in your plan.
2. Set your goals for your business and for you as an entrepreneur. Dream Big!
3. Write out your personal goals – your dreams! (This will help you stay focused when the tough times come along)
4. Make sure your workplace is clean, uncluttered and a conducive environment for your work – soft music or total quiet with no interruptions.
5. Make sure your family members are aware of your working hours so as not to be interrupted. Set aside specific hours for your work. (Don’t forget to set aside time to do fun things too!)
6. Take little breaks – drink water often – if you get stressed, leave for awhile, come back when you are more settled.
7. Keep a journal of each day’s goals met – problems solved or new ones encountered.

These tips should help you prepare as you start your new home based business.
